Epson Perfection 1640SU Scanner Support Added
PLANO, Texas — Mentalix, Inc. announces the availability of a new low cost fingerprint card scanning library with Version 3.1 of its Fingerprint Scan API Toolkit. The library supports the Epson Perfection 1640SU desktop scanner, and offers scan and process speeds of 30 seconds or less for a complete 10-print fingerprint card. The Perfection 1640SU runtime library processes individual cards two to three times faster than comparable systems, yet costs approximately $2,500 less for the overall solution.
The new runtime library can be used as a “drop in” replacement or upgrade for existing fingerprint solutions. The Toolkit allows integrators to provide a fingerprint card and latent print scanning interface for users of Windows NT/2000® and UNIX® systems as well as multi-platform systems. Features include support for non-U.S. fingerprint cards or for custom applications and a choice of several scanner/platform-specific libraries, each certified by the FBI as being compliant with its Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS). Certified runtime library modules are available for 500 ppi 10-print card scans and 1000 ppi latent print scans. The software works stand-alone, but can also be enhanced with Mentalix’s other API products which provide FBI-certified WSQ compression/decompression, automated fingerprint image cropping and color image scanning for
non-fingerprint images such as mug shots.
