PLANO, Texas — Mentalix (www.mentalix.com) announces that the company’s Fed Submit™ live scan and card scan fingerprint systems now support the Joint Automated Booking System (JABS) and Civilian Applicant System (CAS) national databases. This added functionality allows authorized Fed Submit users to conduct automated booking procedures with the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) repository of arrest data in order to verify identity and arrest history when fingerprinting a suspect or checking an applicant’s criminal background prior to employment.
The DOJ maintains the Joint Biometric Data Exchange Hosting Environment (JBDEHE), two components of which are the JABS and CAS programs. JABS serves as a central resource for the exchange of arrest data among federal, state or local law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. On the civilian side, applicant fingerprints can be sent to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for employment background checks via CAS.
Mentalix’s Fed Submit products are used by law enforcement and civilian enterprises to obtain and submit electronic fingerprints as well as related data. As an added service, Mentalix also operates a card scanning facility which converts archived cards to ANSI/NIST electronic format for use in populating fingerprint databases.
Incorporated in 1987, Mentalix develops certified fingerprint acquisition solutions for both end users and systems integrators. The company leads the industry with the most FBI IAFIS IQS-compliant fingerprint solutions, and its API products are used as key components in turnkey systems by many of the top biometric developers worldwide. Mentalix recently expanded its offerings to provide card conversion services for law enforcement agencies that may have hundreds or thousands of fingerprint cards on file and wish to convert the hard cards to more accessible electronic archives. Mentalix maintains its headquarters north of Dallas in Plano, Texas.
Mentalix and Fed Submit are trademarks of Mentalix, Inc. Endorsement by mentioned agencies is neither expressed nor implied.
