Mentalix’s Pixel!SCAN API Toolkit is designed for systems integrators and developers interested in incorporating access to scanners within their custom UNIX, Windows, or cross-platform applications. ‘C’ and script-based scan API solutions are available. In addition to standard features such as sizing/cropping controls and color adjustment settings, the software offers advanced options such as calibration, scan-to-TIFF file and convolution filters.
Uniform, cross-platform interface
With its ‘C’ and script-based API choices, the Pixel!SCAN API Toolkit allows you to easily implement a consistent scanning interface for end users on UNIX, Windows or multi-platform systems.
Support for a wide variety of scanner models
Mentalix’s Pixel!SCAN API Toolkit works with a broad array of scanning devices — giving you the freedom to choose the scanner that best meets your application requirements. From desktop scanners to document imaging devices to high-resolution scanners, the Pixel!SCAN API Toolkit provides a solution for you today and a growth path to take advantage of future improvements in hardware technology.
Easy to use, superior performance
The Pixel!SCAN API Toolkit includes a complete ‘C’ source code example, plus an interactive demonstration program to help you get your scanning solution up and running quickly — reducing your overall investment of time and money. Optimized for quality, compact size and high-performance, the Pixel!SCAN API Toolkit integrates smoothly with third-party applications and existing turnkey systems.
Advanced scanning capabilities, including calibration
The Pixel!SCAN API Toolkit contains features above and beyond those of standard scanning packages, giving you complete control of virtually all scan device features. In addition to the “basics,” such as sizing/cropping controls and color adjustment settings, the software also features advanced capabilities, such as the automated color calibration function that allows you to fine-tune your system and scanner settings with corrections generated from popular calibration targets such as the Kodak Q-60™ Color Input Target and the GretagMacbeth® ColorChecker®. Other advanced features include a scan-to-TIFF file option and several convolution filters (e.g., unsharp mask) that can be applied to images as they are scanned. The software also supports images with higher bit depths (up to 16-bit grayscale, 48-bit RGB and 64-bit CMYK).
Reliable product support & up-to-date platform/device compatibility
To keep pace with the latest platform versions and scanner models, Mentalix plans to release regular product updates for this toolkit. Additionally, our update plans include new features and enhancements, such as complementary advanced image editing tools, OCR/barcode recognition and network enabling functionality. Our engineering team also provides consulting services to help you meet more specialized requirements. Subscriptions for unlimited technical support and access to automatic updates are available.
